Rare Cycas revoluta var. aurea For Sale

The
common green coloured Cycas revoluta is the worlds'
most widely cultivated cycad with millions of seeds,
seedlings and plants sold in Australia and throughout
the world annually.
It
is a mainstay of the horticultural industry which
regularly features in the worlds' most glamorous
manmade landscapes.
The
gilt-edged Cycas revoluta var. aurea
(Sotetsu kogane) has
the same growth and climatic tolerance as the common green
Cycas revoluta yet it is stunningly superior aesthetically.
It can be grown indoors or in full sun. It is both water
wise and hardy. It is the jewel in the crown of any cycad
collection.
Until
very recently the dazzling gold edged Aurea has remained
a botanical rarity, seldom seen and little understood.
For nearly twenty years Price's Palm Plantation has built
up the largest commercial collection of these outside
of Japan.
Although
somewhat expensive due to their rarity and high demand
they are for the same reasons an excellent investment.
The plants I offer are seed grown and therefore may be
either male or female. Our Aureas re-establish readily
having an intact, healthy and extensive root system as
well as their fronds intact.
Please
note that we do not sell Aurea seed as it often does not
hold true to type.
In my experience of hand pollinating
this variety over many years, often 1000 seeds from Aurea
parents will produce few if any Aurea seedlings. It is
for this reason that we sell only genuine seedlings and
offsets, not seed of Aurea.

include CITES and Phytosanitary certification and delivery
